STORY:
Featuring an intricate drop Ikat design in classic indigo and white tones, our Margarita pillow that was named after it's maker is crafted on the foot pedal loom by female artisan weavers from San Pedro, San Marcos in the Western Highlands of Guatemala. These indigenous artisan weavers are masters in the ancient techniques of backstrap and pedal loom weaving and embroidery. The cooperative enables isolated and marginalized women who live in these areas to earn an income.
Our partnership with this cooperative helps to support these female weavers by providing them with a fair wage and economic empowerment.
